Job Description:
Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking a Accounts Payable Specialist for our Lakeville, Minnesota corporate office.
Job Summary:
This position is an essential part of the Company's Accounts Payable (A/P) team. We are looking for an AP Specialist who is organized, detail-oriented and an effective communicator. This position performs a variety of functions including printing, scanning, sorting, and filing invoices and credits. The AP Specialist will also process check runs.
Essential Job Functions:
Process invoices and credits from our Non inventory vendors. Including workflow approvals and allocations
Manage the check-runs process and credit card purchases for vendors. Communicate with vendors as needed
Filing of invoices and credits
Manage vendor set up process. Communicate with vendors as needed to ensure appropriate forms are completed accurately.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
High School Diploma or equivalent GED required
2-year accounting degree preferred
Two years minimum of work experience within an accounts payable environment to include computer and accounting basics.
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well with others and independently
Ability to 10-key accurately and efficiently
Mental & Physical Demands:
Attention to detail required for accuracy of data entered
Frequent deadlines to meet requires fast pace of work
Regular interaction with people and the ability to work as a team player.
The ability to multi-task work responsibilities.
Continuous use of hands for writing and computer keyboard use
Continuous use of a computer monitor requiring close vision
Frequent use of a telephone - listening and speaking
The ability to work at a desk throughout the day

Work Environment:
Work will be performed indoors in a temperature-controlled climate where moderate heat, cold or humidity may be experienced. Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday and may require overtime.
