Objective | Provide the experience and knowledge to teach pre-apprenticeship Electrical courses. This includes the following areas: Electrical Safety; Basic Electrical Theory; Basic Wiring; Circuits; Electrical Test Equipment; Device Boxes; Electrical Construction Drawings; Conductors; Cables; Fittings; and Conduit. |

Essential Duties | Meet or exceed the course learning objectives. Manage classroom activities by demonstrating and enforcing standards, rules and regulations Grade, administer and facilitate quizzes, exams or other tools used to evaluate student progress. Provide feedback to the division on course progress, suggested improvements, or problems that may impact program quality or stability. Performs other tasks related to instruction of electrician courses. |
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | High school diploma or GED Minimum five years work experience in a related field. |
Preferred Experience and Training | Ten years work experience in a related field. Journeyman Electrician license; Associate degree in a related field. |
Physical Requirements | Able to lift 40 to 70 lbs; moderate carrying, 45 to 70 lbs; operate office equipment; simple grasping; seeing; readying; writing; telling time |
Required Degree, License or Certifications | High school diploma or GED

Special Notes To Applicants | Part-time Instructors work less than 19 hours a week, depending on availability. Instructors may teach as little as four hours/week. Instruction is not year-round and does not require a commitment of longer than one course. A variety of course options are available, varying in length, time of day, and content. This is a grant-funded position. Day courses will be in six week iterations. Night courses will be in 12-week iterations. |
Credentials | The College assigns appropriately credentialed faculty members in support of educational quality and the mission of the College, in keeping with Board policy DBA LOCAL-X (Employment Requirements and Restrictions – Credentials and Records: Credentials). College policy is consistent with sound educational practice and SACSCOC guidelines. Primary consideration is given to the highest degree earned in the discipline.
