Director of Rehab: Full-time Salaried Position (PT, OT, SLP, PTA or COTA)
We are seeking a Director of Rehab (Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, Physical Therapy Assistant or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) to join our team in Bellingham, WA at our skilled nursing community, St. Francis of Bellingham. The Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) is responsible for the day-to-day activities in the rehabilitation department of an assigned facility. This includes but is not limited to: the delivery of direct and indirect services to inpatients and outpatients, supervision of all therapy personnel, interview and recommending new hires, and training of all therapy personnel. The DOR is responsible for implementation of new programs to meet the needs of the facility and the residents. The DOR is delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out all assigned duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Directly supervises and guides all therapy personnel in an assigned facility, including, but not limited to, licensed, registered, certified therapists, assistants, aides, and students.
Daily scheduling for the department staff to meet the needs of the facility.
Providing direct care and working with supervisor to determine appropriate caseload in tandem with management responsibilities.
Assures that the rehabilitation needs of the residents are met.
Periodically reviews the therapy services offered and providing updates to meet the standards of the changing environment.
Represents the rehabilitation department during clinical meetings (PPS, Medicare).
Adherence to all regulatory standards as they pertain to the delivery of rehabilitation services.
Ensures that all clinical documentation is complete and timely, and accurately reflects the services provided.
Completes chart audits to ensure compliance as required.
Coordinates denials management activities of the department to ensure that claims are timely and/or appeals timely and in accordance with company procedure.
Meets and or exceeds the productivity standards as established with supervisor.
Ensures that the services delivered are of the highest quality and meet all standards of practice.
Implements new treatment programs.
Monitors treatment programs for outcomes and adjusts plans of care in accordance.
Assures that the department follows the established policies and procedures of the facility and the company.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved curriculum in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology.
Possesses a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a clinician.
Able to practice unencumbered.
In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
Working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources.
Full knowledge of resident's rights.
Exudes professionalism in presentation.
Ability to multitask.
Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
CPR certification.
