6 Full-Time Seasonal H-2A Jobs available 04/01/2024 - 12/01/2024. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Box 3 and 4, Page 1. Workers should have 1 month experience in apple and vegetable duties. Job duties include driving and operating farm machinery to plant, cultivate, maintain and harvest produce. Attach, adjust and maintain farm implements to tractors and drive tractors to the field to prepare the soil. Plant, maintain, prune, harvest, process and pack crops. Maintain and harvest crops using hand and handheld equipment. Know when to irrigate crops using methods appropriate for the crop and location. Set up irrigation, identify plants, pest and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers. Apply general use pesticides or any restricted use pesticides under the direct supervision of a licensed applicator. Drive farm trucks and equipment over the road to maintain and harvest crops. Workers will operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers fields); and or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Drivers License may be required. Workers should report to work with their own suitable work clothing. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather conditions, including temperatures as low as 25 degrees with snow up to one foot deep and as high as 90 degrees with damp mornings. Work requires long periods of standing, bending and kneeling, as well as climbing ladders for long periods of time. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and be available to work Monday through Saturday. Workers may require to work 8 hours shift within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Friday. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform duties assigned. Worker will be given at least 30 minutes for lunch. Beginning and ending times will vary depending on the conditions in the orchard. Workers must be able to take directions in simple English.
