POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce seeks a customer service professional to join our team and serve as the Chamber’s ambassador to guests at our historic Washington, D.C., headquarters. The front desk concierge serves a critical, central role in close partnership with the Chamber’s Events, Security, IT, and Creative teams to manage the full life cycle of the guest experience, from the initial invitation to day-of arrival and post-visit tracking and reporting.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Host all visitors to Chamber headquarters, whether they are attending an executive meeting, participating in an event, or preparing for an interview.
  • Oversee the entire arrival experience from guest check-in through the arrival software platform and security badging to connecting with the guest’s Chamber host and providing a warm welcome through hospitality protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Events, Security, IT, and Facilities teams to manage and prepare the daily schedule of events and guest visits.
  • Communicate with the Chamber’s Executive Office to deliver a white-glove experience for VIPs.
  • Answer the main telephone line, manage the email box, and direct inquiries to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Chamber teams’ expertise, leadership, and key external partners.
  • Support events and conferences through on-site registration.
  • Help manage the Chamber’s conference center operations. 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • A deep commitment to customer service and a gracious, positive attitude.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Poise and confidence in communicating with senior executives, dignitaries, and delegations.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, notably Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Data entry skills and experience with guest registration and/or event reservation software—for example, in an office building, private club, or hotel environment.
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for local attractions and destinations.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
