The Vice President of DoD Services leads a critical role in growing and delivering the DoD Services Division within its own service offering while offering complementary technologies and expertise to the greater Global Defense business. 

This executive will take ownership of the strategic vision supporting the DoD Services Division client portfolio and greenfield new opportunities within the sector.    

The successful candidate will work very closely across their market and leverage their expertise and relationships to deliver excellence on current contracts and broaden and deepen market penetration through targeted growth. The ability to drive growth, build relationships and teams, as well as actively portray technology and mission solution offerings is essential.  

The critical attributes for the Vice President of DoD Services include:  

  • Proven leadership in driving growth and managing a large portfolio in the DoD Services Division client space 
  • Success in building and leveraging BD, delivery, technology teams, mission operations, and maintaining customer intimacy 
  • Track record of building and maintaining large pipelines (>$500M) and sales backlogs 
  • Broad experience in overcoming adversity and driving transformation 
  • Alignment with sales and marketing teams to create synergy  

Key Responsibilities:   

Key responsibilities of the Vice President of DoD Services will provide effective leadership and bring extensive technical, mission, and managerial experience in all facets of leading the Business Unit with a focus on the DoD Services Division customers.  

  • Heavy focus on hands on driving and coordinating new sales opportunities across the DoD Services Division portfolio ($150M+), leading winning proposal efforts, and supporting tracking of key growth metrics  
  • Manage business development across target markets with primary focus on Defense and National Security customers  
  • Hands-on ownership in leading winning proposals throughout entire process; comfortable in both individual contributor and team leader roles including P/L management of the DoD Services Division portfolio 
  • Creative business solutions to meet customer requirements across diverse technologies, delivery, and pricing models 
  • Experience working with leading technology providers including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and leading-edge platforms and technologies 
  • Establish and maintain C-level relationships across the target portfolio to include customer, partner, and industry organizations 
  • Leverage existing relationships to: (1) enhance execution and support organic growth across strategic programs (2) Identify and qualify new business opportunities 
  • Drive high performance standards across the operation – develop great talent, and identify and implement programs for filling any gaps that may exist to drive growth 
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to ensure the highest quality in the day-to-day performance of operations, who can conceive and articulate new strategies and tactics for the marketplace  
  • Successfully manage change in an evolving business   

Core Abilities and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of hands-on experience in the DoD Services market 
  • Strong background in growth and P/L management (experience managing and growing >$150M businesses) 
  • Background growing the business focused on professional and IT and managed services with experience in Cloud, Data, Managed Services, and Digital and Mission Transformation 
  • Ability to build consensus, rally support around common goals, and motivate groups and individuals 
  • Visible and engaging leader and change agent that brings passion to the role and energy to the group with a strong bias for action and decisiveness. 
  • Proven negotiation and mediation skills with the ability to overcome obstacles to cooperation and to foster collaboration. 
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Ability to rapidly process and comprehend large amounts of detailed information, considers the implications and consequences of new facts, and makes decisions 
  • Experience working with information technology, human resources, and legal issues 
  • Experience in strategic planning, development, and establishing policies and procedures 
  • Action-oriented, flexible, with innovative approaches to management and operations 
  • Ability to maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, Poly a plus
