Summary

Responsible for overseeing and organizing the equipment, staff, workflow, shop safety and all processes on the production floor. They will manage scheduling and all production activities as well as acting as first-line troubleshooting should problems arise. This position must ensure all personnel adhere to safety policies and quality objectives. Efforts are generally directed at setting individual and team goals, training, coaching, problem solving, trouble shooting, evaluation and following up the work of the individual members of the team. This position is encouraged to make recommendations on expanding the business and generate greater profit for the company.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall management and operations of J Flow Controls Warehouse Areas within the facility.
  • Accomplishes Warehouse staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordination, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by training employees and ensuring all staff are cross trained on all equipment operation.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Utilize methods of continuous improvement in managing the manufacturing process to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reports results of the processing flow on shift production summaries by working with the Assembly manager.
  • Provide input to sales on quotes and manufacturing schedule.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing ad enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control budgetary and personnel requirements, implementing change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing profession publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Procure any material required for work orders.
  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification and processes.
  • Handle year-end inventory.

  • Proven ability to monitor the Production department to ensure quality, accuracy, and thoroughness; able to self-motivate and to motivate team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to clearly communicate with inside sales support, sales, quality, purchasing, management and customers.
  • Thorough understanding of products and equipment used in manufacturing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience
  • College degree with 2-5 years manufacturing work experience or related experience
  • Previous experience in a management capacity
  • 4+ years manufacturing plant experience
