Job Description
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY OF $26.23 PER HOUR.
The Administration for Children's Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.
ACS’ Office of Human Resources (OHR) is responsible for a wide range of functions that directly support our agency’s mission to deliver comprehensive, high-quality services that empower children and families to thrive. Key responsibilities of OHR include the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures, recruitment and hiring of qualified candidates, onboarding and training of new employees, performance and compensation management, and ensuring compliance with all relevant employment, civil service, and labor laws. In addition to these core functions, OHR offers a variety of employee services, including career development, benefits, and wellness programs. OHR is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented graduate student to serve as a Human Resources (HR) Technology Graduate Intern within our Compensation, Timekeeping and Workforce Analytics team.
As an HR Technology Graduate Intern, you will support the testing and validation of Human Resource Management System (HRMS) functionalities to ensure successful system deployment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase of HRMS implementation and partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure system functionality, accuracy, and user experience optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive system testing across multiple HRMS sub-modules to confirm proper functionality and workflow integration
- Analyze system workflows to verify they align with business requirements and operational needs
- Assess user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) components to identify potential areas for improvement
- Document and report system issues, discrepancies, and performance concerns for resolution
- Collaborate with HR SMEs in Timekeeping, Payroll, Compensation, Employment Verifications, and Workforce Analytics to refine system processes and enhance usability
- Participate in meetings with the HRMS technology vendor to discuss findings, provide feedback, and contribute to system optimization
- Provide recommendations for system enhancements based on testing results and user feedback

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college, university or law school.
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Technology Management, Business Analytics, Operations Research, or a related field - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify system inefficiencies and inconsistencies - Experience or coursework in systems testing, technology implementation, systems analysis, operations management, UI/UX development or evaluation, or software development - High attention to detail and ability to document findings clearly and concisely - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a structured environment
