Position Summary
The University at Buffalo School of Nursing invites applicants for an Adjunct Instructor in the Nursing Simulation & Innovation Lab. Responsibilities include:
  • Participate in lab activities, use EHR, and teach skills with lab, sim, and course coordinators.
  • Provide and Support simulation experiences with the Simulation Coordinator.
  • Assist with preparation before and reorganization after simulation and lab activities.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty in promoting student learning experiences and for professional development.
  • Provide instructional support to adjunct clinical faculty for skills.
  • Assess students’ abilities in simulation and lab activities and promote critical thinking skills in the application of theory to practice.
  • Maintain communication with lab and simulation coordinators regarding students’ learning difficulties.
  • Help to train and work collaboratively with graduate assistants assigned to the lab.
  • Participate in community engagement activities.
  • Attend meetings as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Earned bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Experience as an RN in a hospital.
  • Candidate should be comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office (e.g. Word and PowerPoint), systems of documenting care online, and quality improvement methods.
  • Ability to coordinate and monitor complex activities and collaborate.
  • Current NYS RN License is required or upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent nursing skills lab and simulation experience is highly desirable.
  • BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
