Responsibilities :
- Perform necessary tasks to operate heating plant and chiller plant in an uninterrupted, safe and efficient manner:
Monitor controls and makes necessary adjustments
Water testing and treatment
Maintain necessary records
Keep a clean, neat and safe work area
Perform necessary maintenance of equipment
- To perform and/or assist in the regular care and maintenance of the following areas so that they are operated in an efficient and effective manner:
Heating systems
Cooling systems
Building Automation System
HVAC and environmental controls to maintain a safe comfortable environment for Winona State University users
Electrical maintenance
Plumbing maintenance
- Operate Train Building Automation System
Monitor and perform basic functions
Report all alarm conditions in log and take proper corrective actions
Perform preventive maintenance of Building Automation System's pneumatic and electronic controls
- Act as a communications liaison for the Physical Plant during non-office hours
Monitor telephone calls and radio communications and react accordingly
React accordingly to all walk in situations
Record all incidents on the operators daily log
- Assist the trades in remodeling and new construction as needed
Minimum Qualifications
A current State of Minnesota 1 st class ‘B’ Engineers license must be maintained at all times.
This position must be able to perform skill work in maintaining and repairing a variety of electronic, pneumaticandmiscellaneousdevices.
Knowledgeandabilitytousestandarddiagnostictestandrepair procedures utilized to service pneumatic and electronic equipment is also needed.
Mustberegisteredasanon-licensedelectricianorhavetheabilitytobecome registered.
Physical Requirements
In order to accomplish the tasks of this position it requires bending, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, crouching, pushing and pulling up to 125 pounds on a regular basis and greater weight on an occasional basis.
Climbing ladders, twisting and squatting are required on an occasional basis.

Must be physically able to work in confined spaces such as boilers, crawl spaces and tunnels.
Additional Requirements
Must successful pass a criminal background check.
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
