Job Summary
Personable, engaging instructors needed to teach adult personal enrichment classes for the following programs:

  • Embark Program for Young Adults – classes and experiences designed to impart life skills for a safe, secure and fun transition into adulthood.
  • Endeavor Program for Adults – classes and interactive experiences that engage the mind and the body. http://www.clcillinois.edu/programs-and-classes/personal-enrichment/personal-enrichment-courses
  • Discover Program for Mature Adults – immersive learning experiences which provide a deep dive into a variety of subjects. http://www.clcillinois.edu/programs-and-classes/personal-enrichment/discovery

Required Qualification(s)
  1. Excellent communication skills
  2. Exceptional ability to engage participants
  3. Relevant teaching experience
  4. Competency and/or commitment to learn and use instructional technologies, used at CLC: Zoom, Canvas, Destiny, Adobe Cloud, Microsoft 365, etc.
  5. A course proposal form and demonstration of teaching style will be required.
  6. Ability to work effectively and constructively work with persons of diverse cultures, gender identities, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Desired Qualification(s)
  1. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in subject area of teaching
  2. Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant, successful experience teaching the subject proposed
  3. Bilingual in Spanish and English

Summary of Essential Functions
Develop and conduct proposed programs and classes. Fulfill administrative requirements.

Faculty members are expected to maintain current in compliance training, including compliance under Title IX “Responsible Employee” and, if applicable, Clery Act Campus Security Authority.

Agree to and follow appropriate College and department policies and procedures.
