Job Description: |
The Optician is an integral part of the ophthalmic team. The optician will utilize the prescription written by the ophthalmologist and optometrist to assist patients in the proper selection of visual aids, and to dispense and fit spectacles and other optical aids. The optician is responsible for taking proper and accurate measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of frames and lenses. Responsibilities also include working closely with frame vendors and optical labs, ordering frames, frame board and inventory management. The Optician is proficient at using optical software, practice management software, and electronic health records.
