Skookum is seeking a reliable and skilled Mechanic Helper to join a team dedicated to supporting our nation's military service members. Our Fleet Department thrives on strong relationships built by partnership, integrity, and excellence. The Mechanic Helper will perform a variety of tasks such as washing, cleaning, and lubricating vehicles; loading, unloading, and storing automotive parts and supplies; and maintaining work areas. As the Mechanic Helper you will also work alongside Mechanics for the opportunity for growth.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Wash, clean exterior/interior of vehicles, including removal of snow, ice, and frost.
Drive or move vehicles inside the motor pool.
Assist with housekeeping of the maintenance facility to ensure a safe working environment.
Maintain the storage of parts and supplies.
Assist warehouse personnel with cleaning and record control of parts.
Fuel vehicles for training.
Assist in cleaning debris from training surfaces as needed.
Maintain the "Right To Know" station.
Qualifications:
Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to use computers and computer software preferred.
Must exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs.
Must be able to stablish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted during daily work.
Requirements:
Valid State Driver's license required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance company.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
