My client is a construction company that has an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a role as the Controller in their Upper Marlboro, MD office. The ideal person selected for the Controller position will be responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, accounting for WIP and Fixed Assets, preparing various types of schedules, assisting with payroll requests, producing the financial statements and ensuring the organization makes scheduled tax payments and remains in compliance. Daily responsibilities of the Controller include:
· Oversee month-end close process.
· Assist with accounting for WIP and Fixed Assets.
· Prepare various schedules.
· Reconcile general ledger accounts.
· Ensure company is in compliance with regulatory agencies.
The ideal Controller we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration:
· 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
· Construction accounting experience, preferred.
· Communicate effectively to leadership.
· Experience with Sage 300 or Timberline, a plus.
