RESPONSIBLE TO: Principal of the Millet Learning Center
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- USW Union, Food Service Salary Schedule.
- Rate of pay is $11.26 per hour.
- One (1) full-time, school year position available, 35 hours per week.
- Start date is upon expiration of the posting deadline and in accordance with Article XIII, Section C, 2 of the USW Contract.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: This position will assist with the food service program as directed by the appropriate supervisor.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- To set up dish area for lunch service.
- To assist with computerized cash register and monitor student and staff data entry on the food service line during breakfast and lunch.
- To assist in the general cleanup by washing and putting away all lunch dishes, cooking utensils, etc.
- To work with and assist in the guidance of the work experience students.
- To assist with housekeeping duties as necessary and required.
- To keep all students, parent, and staff information confidential.
- To have a positive attitude in working with students, parents, the staff members, and community members.
- Other duties as requested by the Food Service Work Team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Must be familiar with the operation of a food service program.
- Must be able to practice acceptable sanitation and safety rules and regulations demonstrated by the participation in an approved sanitation and safety course.
- Working knowledge of computer keyboarding skills preferred.
- Ability to work well with others and as a team member in a work team environment.
- Good oral and written communication skills required.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be willing to receive additional training to improve job skills.
TESTING MAY BE ADMINISTERED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: Arithmetic, spelling, vocabulary, number comparison, name comparison, and writing ability.
