JOB SUMMARY: Under regular supervision, performs police services in accordance with the mission, goals and objectives of the Sheriff’s Department and in compliance with New Mexico State and local laws. This position will be included in the Bargaining Unit after probation is completed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 21 years of age, must live in Chaves County, U.S. citizen and valid NM driver’s license.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or G.E.D.

CERTIFICATION/TRAINING: Must be a certified New Mexico state peace officer or become a certified peace officer within one year of hire.
