A Brief Overview

Deliver compassionate, culturally effective care as a Registered Nurse in CHOP's Surgical Services Department. Ranging from advanced beginners to expert practitioners, our nurses coordinate all facets of patient care, collaborate with diverse healthcare professionals, and can progress to managing the most complex cases in their clinical area.

Responsibilities
Deliver family-centered care guided by CHOP's Nursing Professional Practice Model.
Develop, evaluate, and revise patients' plans of care throughout their hospitalization.
Gather and analyze data to inform the care team and delegate tasks.
Promote excellent patient outcomes by adhering to evidence-based practices, nursing standards, and safety procedures.
Identify and address safety concerns or ethical dilemmas with unit leadership.
Develop effective partnerships with the interdisciplinary care team.
Adopt healthcare technology and clinical practice changes in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain CEUs for nursing licensure and comply with annual nursing competencies and mandatory education.

Education Qualifications
Technical Diploma Nursing Required
Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred
Experience Qualifications
Pediatric acute, subacute, other inpatient or Home Care experience Required
At least two (2) years of inpatient nursing with pediatrics/adults Preferred
At least one (1) year of home care experience Preferred
Skills and Abilities
Valid Driver's license
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong verbal and communication skills
Strong clinical judgment skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment
Data entry skills
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required and
Registered Nurse (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - within 9 months - Required
