2025 Summer Distribution Engineering Intern
03/24/2025 Locations Plymouth-MAStudent will assist system engineers and supervisors with either routine or special projects. These projects develop the electrical distribution system across Massachusetts where there is significant expansion and improvement activity. Student will learn basic electric utility design, equipment, and operations. As needed, student will also compile and analyze some data intensive needs and will learn the principles of good customer service and electric reliability.
Scope of Work/Project:
Under the direct supervisions of a qualified engineering supervisor, the student will review data and assist with designs to improve the distribution system. Student may also review service outages, project layouts, circuit configurations, new remote device sensing/control technology, underground (URD) cable rebuilds, and equipment inspection data. Most work will be in office, but occasional field trips with a supervisor will be arranged. Student will also learn to develop technical presentations and project plans.
Position Requirements:
Student needs to be working toward an engineering degree (electrical preferred) and requires some technical and analytical background and experience. Software experience should include Microsoft Office Suite and technical drawings programs such as Visio, CAD (not required). Student must have transportation to the assigned office locations to be determined. Safety equipment will be provided as needed.
