This position is responsible for, but not limited to, creating and maintaining the Pack/Rack specs within the system, fixing and calibrating all measuring equipment that can be fixed internally, calibrating all tools according to the set time intervals and maintaining the calibration tool list, ordering new tools when needed, replacing and updating the prints and revisions books around the facility, inspect and qualify all new die trials and send them to be approved, cut and send the certification samples to the outside certification lab, clear the certification in WIP at the end of each month, verify and disposition the press samples daily, sample parts on racks to verify they represent the samples from the press, update the quality sheets and white board based on prior days activities, continuously improve and work toward achieving certification in a quality methodology such as Lean Sigma, green belt in Six Sigma, black belt in Six Sigma, certified quality technician or any other similar accredited titles.

Essential Job Functions:
- Inspect material and parts in accordance with AAE and industry standards.
- Responsible for cutting all mechanical certs and shipping them to the laboratory for certification.
- Collecting and inputting all scrap data from the previous day.
- Work closely with the Quality Manager to find areas to eliminate waste and improve quality.
- Capture and record pack and rack specs so that the white books are all up to date with the current revisions and customer specifications.
- Calibrate tools in accordance with AAE and industry standards.
- Provide accurate feedback to upper management about quality issues on the shop floor that may arise.
- Present themselves in a professional manner and positively represent American Aluminum Extrusion at all times.
- Any additional tasks or workload as required.
Required Skills:
- Understanding of manual measurement tools.
- Understanding of tape measures.
- Understanding of the decimal system and fractions.
- Great oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic understanding of the EPICS system.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Exposure to all types of temperatures.
- Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping, bending, lifting and reaching overhead.
- Physical strength sufficient to move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Sufficient manual dexterity required to perform the job properly.
- High degree of attention and care required to operate in a safe manner.
- Appropriate safety equipment is necessary.
- Overtime hours may be required.
