Copeland Senior Electronics Test Engineer in Sidney, Ohio

If you are an Electronics Engineering Professiona l looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will perform independent test and validation of Copeland electronic products for Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration and Controls & Monitoring solutions.

As a Senior/Lead Electronics Test Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and implement test plans and procedures for Copeland electronic products & systems.

  • Operate in a global, multi-functional environment working with electronics, systems, and compression engineers with a focus on product reliability and testing processes

  • Design, build and maintain test fixture

  • Perform failure mode and root cause analysis of electronic products and components

  • Operate and maintain all laboratory test instruments, data acquisition systems, environmental chambers, and EMI/EMC testing equipment

  • Develop and apply expertise related to industry and regulatory compliance (ISO, IEC, UL, CE)

Who You Are:

You are skilled at conveying and understanding information & ideas, in a clear and comprehensible manner. You focus on the highest priorities, laying out a thorough schedule and steps for achieving objectives. You readily distinguish between what’s relevant and what’s unimportant to make sense of complex situations.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 5+ years of electronics test experience required

  • Proven track record in electronic product failure analysis, reliability analysis and problem solving methodologies

  • Hands-on experience with Electronics Lab equipment such as EMI/EMC, thermal chambers, Oscilloscopes, Data-loggers and Power sources

  • Strong dedication to electronics lab safety culture and 5S processes

  • Proven track record in software/hardware testing with custom built test fixtures/controls.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 7+ year of electronics test experience

  • Experience in HVACR focused electronics products qualification and reliability testing

  • Experience using and developing automated test equipment

  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes/in-circuit testing is a plus

  • Knowledge of IoT/wireless protocols (BLE, cellular, sub-GHz) and FCC regulations

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit.
