Posting Summary | Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), Opioid Response Team for NJMS-Emergency Medicine. The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), provides substance use services to patients managed by the opioid response team (ORT) and the Comprehensive Addiction Resources & Education (CARE) Center at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. The APN will work with a mobile ORT team to coordinate and link patients to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) and harm reduction services in the prehospital setting. The APN will also provide clinical care at the CARE Center for ongoing MOUD treatment, collaborate with pharmacies to improve patient adherence to long-acting MOUD, and educate EMS, first responders, and community groups on opioid use disorder, naloxone, and MOUD. Additionally, the APN will assist with phone consultations for providers seeking guidance on MOUD initiation and maintenance. Among the key duties of the position are the following:
