About the job:

Performs the installation, maintenance, testing, servicing, repairing and rebuilding of

electrical distribution and power transmission systems, emergency generator systems,

service equipment, shop equipment, alarm systems, and associated controls.

What you'll do:

  • Reads blueprints, installs equipment and wiring in accordance with blueprints and

specifications, up-dates and corrects blueprints to reflect as-built conditions.

  • Assists the General and Mechanical Supervisors, HVAC, Electronic Technicians, Plumbers,

and other trades when necessary.

  • Performs snow removal duties including the maintenance and operation of 4-wheel drive

vehicles, plows, salt spreaders, tractors, blowers, and applies salt and de-icers

  • Operates electrical measuring equipment such as amprobes, DVM's and multimeters.

  • Operates the building automation system. Enters and extracts data from the Computerized

Maintenance System.

  • Inspects new equipment and appliances, performs leakage and safety checks, completes

inspection documents, and approves equipment for installation and operation in the hospital.

  • Responsilbe for maintaing low voltage systems such as nurse call, overhead paging, door

controls throughout the facility

What we're looking for:

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a technical trade school,

military electrical school or Mount Carmel training program.

  • Licensure / Certification: Fire alarm experience is preferred.

  • Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' experience with electrical power distribution and

control systems, and knowledge of electrically activated mechanical positioning devices or

completion of a Mount Carmel training program.

  • Effective Communication Skills

  • Experienced in blueprint reading and knowledge of the National Electric Code.

  • Experienced in the use of electrical meters, recording devices and leakage detection equipment, and the ability to use this equipment in troubleshooting malfunctions.

· Physical qualifications require near visual acuity for reading blueprints and inspecting small parts. Depth perception, peripheral vision and color vision are needed in making connections, soldering and splicing wires.

  • Must have a valid Ohio driver's license.
