Department/Division:  Eugene Police Department/911 Communications Division
Central Lane Communications was established as a regional consolidated communications center in April 1985. Organizationally, Central Lane Communications is part of the Eugene Police Department's 911 Communications Division. Lane Communications is jointly funded by the City of Eugene General Fund, fire dispatch user fees, and the State's 9-1-1 telephone tax.

The Center, on average, makes and receives between 800 and 1,000 telephone calls a day. In a typical day, about 75 calls for service are also self-initiated by the Eugene Police Department. Self-initiated activity includes traffic stops, patrol checks, person stops, etc.
