Job Summary:

Assists in administering health information services consistent with accreditation and regulatory standards and facility policies and procedures. Implements policies and procedures for documenting, storing and retrieving information, processing medical legal documents, insurance data and correspondence requests. Maintains patient medical records and ensures accurate documentation per requirements. Ensures HIPAA guidelines are followed. Maintains positive collegial relationships with physicians and all departments.

Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and respects confidentiality
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to work collaboratively with all hospital department
Must have good and regular attendance
Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

High School or equivalency diploma

Experience:

One year experience in a health care facility working with medical records preferred.
