JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Journalism and Media Studies Department at
Marquette University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant
professor position in the J. William and Mary Diederich College of
Communication beginning in Fall 2024, with a teaching and research
specialization in journalism. The ideal candidate will have a strong
program of research that can complement the department\'s focus on
creating journalism that matters. The candidate should be able
contribute to the department\'s professional and conceptual journalism
classes, especially in the areas of media literacy, reporting, ethics
and journalism education. Experience building relationships with
journalism professionals is strongly desired as is demonstrated
experience and a commitment to working with diverse communities. Duties
and Responsibilities The position carries a 3-2 teaching load. In
addition to essential functions the candidate will be responsible for
advising undergraduate and/or graduate students, contributing to
university, college, and department committees, and establishing a
personal/collaborative research agenda and may supervise a teaching
and/or research assistant. The successful candidate will provide
leadership in the program by incorporating new technologies at
undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate will have the
opportunity to teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs.

Skills and Abilities Earned doctorate or a terminal degree. Demonstrated
potential for teaching excellence and high quality research. Preferred
