A Snapshot of Your Day
Our Field Service (FSE) organization travels to power plants across the U.S. and where our employees are responsible for the maintenance and upgrades to some of the largest and most powerful electrical generation machinery in the world including gas turbines, steam turbines and generators. This program is the entry point to our world-class field service organization.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- During your first 12 months, you will complete classroom and lab training in Orlando and participate in on-the-job training with experienced engineers, working at multiple customer sites across the US.
- You will work directly with our leading staff of FSE's to develop skills that include equipment operation, maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership, and Siemens Energy’s business systems
- Once you complete training, as a Field Service Engineer, you'll be supervising technicians and mechanics working on steam turbine generator equipment during power plant maintenance shutdowns (outages), both planned and unplanned system outages which can occur due to equipment performance issues.
- Responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling turbines and generators
- Coordinating to the upgrading of mechanical and electrical systems on steam turbine generators to increase power output and efficiency
- Collaborating with our worldwide engineering staff to perform niche mechanical and electrical testing and you will serve as the primary customer contact during outages and ensure that repairs are made in a timely and accurate manner
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required. 5+ years of demonstrated technical leadership experience in power plant or facilities maintenance and operations. Associate's or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- You enjoy using both your mind and your hands to resolve sophisticated mechanical problems while working closely on a team and with our customers to provide outstanding service
- You are a self-starting leader, who enjoys using all available resources and leading others to build innovative solutions to challenging mechanical issues
- You enjoy travel – so much that you are okay with traveling for extended periods of time. Typically, Our FSE's will work up to 250 days per year for anywhere from 2-15 weeks at a time.
- While deployed, you will work extended working hours of up to 12-14 hours per day including weekends/holidays, 6-7 days per week. A typical work week can be 60-84 hours.
- You are able to; ascends/descends a ladder to examine equipment, position yourself to examine equipment including in confined spaces, move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, work in outdoor weather conditions, walk long distances and share cramped office trailer with other employees. And this program offers a flexible schedule that allows you to enhance your professional impact, your earning power, and offers work life balance.

This role may be based in various locations across the United States. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits, including paid time off and holiday pay. For positions based in the United States, the base salary range is $70,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually, and the annual incentive target is from 0% to insert 10% of the base salary.

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators.
