Compensation: 50,000 to 60,000 (depending on experience)

Job Overview
The University of Minnesota's Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking an Accountant to join its Finance team within a matrix organization. This position is responsible for managing the OIT billing process, preparing financial schedules and reports, managing invoices received, as well as performing other accounting functions necessary to create and maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation. Ideal candidates will have a commitment to investing themselves in the work, creating strong professional relationships, and a desire to promote a respectful, inclusive and collaborative climate. This is a hybrid position, spending time in office and remotely.


Job Duties:
Accounting 85%
Manage the OIT billing process to include working with stakeholders to capture the billable data; monthly close of the PCR-360 billing system; ensuring accurate data interfaced to the PeopleSoft Financial system
Analyze, reconcile and manage billing account transactions, including but not limited to data uploads, work order entries, billable and non-billable charges
Manage the invoices received to include: verification of invoice, paying on time, working with vendors to resolve discrepancies
Prepare entry requests sent to FinOps Center for: journal entries, billing external customers, paying invoices
Reporting 5%
Review department's billing processes and recommend improvements
Prepare ad-hoc financial schedules and reports to support management initiatives
Reconcile data using multiple systems, including PCR-360 database, UM Analytics, and PeopleSoft
Grant Management and Monitoring 10%
Coordinate the fiscal management and monitoring of OIT's grants and ensure compliance of applicable policies and regulations.

Qualifications



Required Qualifications:
BA in Accounting or related field OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience to equal four years.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, Vlookup, etc) and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with PeopleSoft Financials
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional experience within MS Excel
