Job Summary |
The School of History, Philosophy, and Religion invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, fixed term Instructor position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Department Head. This Instructor role in the School of History, Philosophy, and Religion is a full-time non-tenure track position. The person in this role is intended to have expertise in War, Peace, and Empire in Eastern Europe, Russia, and Eurasia, especially in the 19th and 20th centuries. The Instructor will teach ten courses each academic year (typically 3-3-4). OSU is on the quarter system, with classes of 10 weeks of instruction. The Instructor will be expected to teach a combination of existing lower-division courses such as Origins of “The West” (HST 101-103), World History (HST 104-106), and upper-level history courses on one or more of the following topics: World War I and II, Russian/Soviet history, European history, military history, and diplomatic history. Courses will be taught both online and on campus. The Instructor will have the opportunity to design courses that speak to their interests. Additional information about curriculum can be found here.
