Nursing Assistant
(School term position, 2 shifts available 7 am to 4 pm or 3 pm to 11:30 pm)
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Missouri School for the Deaf seeks to hire a Nurse Assistant. The domicile is in Fulton.
Responsibilities: Gives First Aid as appropriate and necessary according to personal assessment, standing orders from school physician and approval of the Registered Nurse. Dispenses prescription medicines on an appropriate schedule for each student as ordered by physician. Maintains a personal work schedule, doctor's visit for students or emergency visits as approved by supervisor. Assists physicians with examinations and makes appropriate documentation. Assists in providing health care instruction through skilled treatment. Handles school switchboard duties in the evening. Documents all medicines, treatments and education provided on students' individual charts and other appropriate records. Observes students and reviews records as necessary and reports changes in condition or behavior. Assists in ordering and replacing supplies needed for work requirements. Notifies supervisor and/or physician of appropriate concerns including emergencies and as directed by supervisor. Admits students to the Health Center with appropriate documentation.
Qualifications: Graduation from high school or High School Equivalency. Certification to pass medication. Ability to obtain basic CPR certification.
Salary: $1,554 per month (based on working 209 days)
