About the role:

As part of the new product development core team, the Sr. Supplier Engineer supports new product introduction, sustaining, and value improvement projects for the Connectors and Cable Assemblies (C&CA) and Sourced Finished Medical Devices (SFMD) categories. This role is responsible for improving supplier performance, mitigating risks for supplied materials and driving strategies to support supply chain objectives. The incumbent will own manufacturing deliverables at the supplier and partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Sustaining, R&D, Design Assurance and Project Management teams to resolve complex and critical supplier-related issues.



Your responsibilities will include:
Partnering with global sourcing teams to establish and execute category objectives
Working with global suppliers to understand assembly and finished good manufacturing processes; serve as technical expert to ensure repeatable component quality and reliability throughout the product life cycle
Partnering with suppliers and category teams to investigate and address supply constraints andsupplied material issues
Investigating and evaluating new and existing technologies to use in future products and improve the quality and reliability of current products
Collaborating with R&D, manufacturing and process development teams on electrical and mechanical design requirements for new product development
Partnering with cross-functional teams to execute changes initiated by BSC or suppliers; lead and support projects to address process improvement, supplier capability, capacity, and compliance
Coordinating all phases ofsupplier engineering work content for projects; communicateemerging issues and recovery action plans with site leadership and stakeholders to gain resources and support
Identifying and executing material cost reduction projects to meet category and divisional goals; influence cross-functional team members to support and drive value improvement projects
Maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures to support the BSC commitment to patient safety and product quality
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
Minimum 4 years of technical experience supporting complex mechanical or electrical systems
Ability to travel 10-20% (domestic and international)
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working in medical device or similarly regulated industry
Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers
Working knowledge of statistical methods, six sigma and/or problem-solving techniques
Organized and detail-oriented; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive deliverables
Results-driven with effective critical thinking and analytical skills
Keen interpersonal skills withability to develop internal and external relationships
