Position Description

The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks non-tenure-track adjunct faculty to teach courses within the Environmental Sciences & Policy program . The modality of this course is an in -person/online course at the Washington DC campus with potential to offer multiple sections and semesters, depending on enrollment and program needs. The instructor will be required to maintain a Canvas site for course resources.? Of particular interest are candidates who have experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds.

The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU).?   • Climate Change on the Front lines: The Study of Adaptation in Developing Countries (online and/or on-site)

  • Community development and Sustainability in Developing Countries (online and/or on-site)

  • Freshwater Ecology & Restoration of Aquatic Ecosystems (online and/or on-site)

  • Ecotoxicology ( online and/or on-site)

  • Ecology and Ecosystem Management in Coastal and Estuarine Systems (online and/or on-site)

  • Soils in Natural & Anthropogenic Ecosystems (online and/or on-site)

  • Agroecology (online and/or on-site)

  • Air Quality Management and Policy (online and/or on-site)

  • Habitat Conservation and Ecological Niche Modeling? (online and/or on-site)

  • Analysis of Environmental & Ecological Data (online and/or on-site)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field.

  • Professional and/or scholarly experience.

  • One year of college-level teaching experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D., J.D., or other terminal degree in a relevant field

  • The background to teach a wide variety of courses relevant to environmental sciences

  • 3-5 years of teaching higher education courses.
