Job Overview
The Office of Research's Research Platforms & Insights (RPI) unit is responsible for identifying and implementing solutions that can improve process effectiveness and prepare the Office of Research and UC research enterprise for future growth.
This position is responsible for planning, designing, monitoring, and supporting new and existing Research platforms. Also included is, provide expertise and guidance to the research community regarding the utilization of research enterprise tools; articulate, evaluate, and design business processes, facilitate the delivery of business content to research community.
Someone who has the basic understanding and experience working with web technologies (HTML, API) and databases, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and proficient using tools such as PowerPoint, OneDrive, Adobe Photoshop will succeed in this position.
Essential Functions
Ensure that research platforms comply with regulatory guidelines for research. Monitor, analyze, and verify data to ensure data integrity.
Develop plans, timelines, and budgets.
Coordinate and provide operational support in financial, administrative, systems, and operational activities of a business unit.
Assist with determining best practices and developing actionable data-driven insights and recommendations to support the organizational decision-making process. May be requested to create executive summaries and benchmark reports.
Analyze the business objectives of the department and develop solutions.
Support report and analytics solutions within one or more business units.
Contribute as an influencing partner of a small cross functional team to implement business processes.
May lead and communicate business workflows and processes to team members.
May represent administrators on committees and attend meetings on behalf of administrator.
Assist staff with problem resolution and research related to operational, IT systems, and business office processes, procedures, and policies.
Recommend policy and procedure changes.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
Two (2) years of related experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Implementing systems, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
Problem-solving, process mapping, and process automation (using tools such as Visio, Microsoft Power platform).
Project management (using tools such as Salesforce, Trello, Jira, Github).
Data collection and analysis (using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power Bi).
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
