Job Summary

REQUIREMENTS: A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. Experience with Auto body or paint is a plus. Forklift experience is a plus but not required. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Painter Assistant is responsible for spraying surfaces of machines and manufactured products with protective or decorative material such as paint, enamel, glaze, gelcoat or lacquer. Responsibilities include but not limited to the following: Preparing equipment for painting (i.e., cleaning and preparing surfaces and applying masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated) Inspecting quality of parts Selecting and mixing paint to produce desired color according to the paint manufacturer's requirements. Mixing and applying specified coatings to required specifications. Inspecting painted units for runs, sags and unpainted areas. Cleaning paint booth, conveyor, hoses, spray heads, brushes and nozzles. Appropriately disposing of paint waste and hazardous materials. Communicating with the floor supervisor regarding the schedule. Ensuring adequate supply of paint for upcoming order. Maintaining paint department equipment and supplies. Other duties as assigned.
