Job Description:
Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the hyperbaric leadership. Responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber and related support systems as well as the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient.
Job Functions
Assists in the patient preparation for treatment.
Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and associated systems and equipment.
Monitors patients in the chamber.
Reinforces education as it relates to hyperbaric therapy.
Documents and maintains accurate medical records and reports.
Coordinates departmental safety-related standards as required by licensing and regulatory agencies.
Maintains all facility safety-related standards as required by licensing and regulatory agencies.
Assists Clinical Supervisor with agency regulatory and accreditation compliance.
Backs-up Clinical Support I as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Strong communication and listening skills
Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
Ability to work autonomously and as a team
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
Ability to multi-task
Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
License/Certifications
Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing OR
Current state of MN and National Registry of EMT certification OR
Current state of MN Paramedic Certification OR
Graduate of a medical assistant program
BLS Certification
Completion of NBDHMT or UHMS-recognized industry hyperbaric medicine course and certification within one year of hire
Preferred Qualifications
One to two years of previous healthcare experience
