team! Job Description: The Medical Assistant (MA), while working within
the scope of only those acts which are delegated by the supervising
physician or registered nurse (RN), provides direct patient care to
assist in meeting individual and age-specific needs of patients and
families/significant others. This responsibility includes provision of
compassionate, safe, and competent care as delegated by physician or RN.
The MA receives daily direction and provides daily organizational
support for the physician and team. The need for direct or general
supervision is determined based on standards of practice and includes
complexity of patients, competency, and education. Direct supervision is
defined as working side by side to observe, coordinate and direct
firsthand the practice of another. General supervision is defined as
available to observe, coordinate and direct the practice of another.
Major Responsibilities: The MA: 1.Accepts delegation from the physician
and RN and is responsible for delivering care in accordance with the
patient\'s plan of care,and in compliance with organizational,
regulatory, and professional standards and guidelines. 2.Contributes to
the plan of care by collecting and reporting patient data. Gathers data
in support of the comprehensive assessment and care planningconducted by
the physician or RN. 3. Observes and reports the patient\'s response to
care as well as significant symptoms or changes in patient status to the
