Job Description
We are accepting resumes for potential openings in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism for classes starting in fall semester 2024 and continuing in the academic year 2024-2025. The need for these positions is undetermined at this time and is dependent on operational need including enrollment and staffing. If a need arises, the department will select candidates from this posting.

Classes may be taught online remotely or in person on the Athens, Ohio campus. Please specify your availability in your application.

Applications to this pool will be utilized to fill part-time, non-tenure track, non-benefits eligible instructor positions for courses offered by the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism on the Athens campus as departmental/student demand dictates. The number of courses offered each semester by the journalism school is largely dependent on full-time faculty leave of absences and student demand. Therefore, we often have the need for part-time instructors with very short notice. Such part-time positions will be filled using qualified applicants from this pool.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communication related field.
  • One year of experience in the journalism, advertising, or publication relations fields.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • At least three to five years of industry experience.
