Responsibilities

As our Foundation Development Officer at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health you will be responsible for maximizing philanthropic opportunities for VMFH by engaging with major philanthropists. Your strong knowledge of development-based fundraising will be used to reach out and meet with prospects and investors in the local community. You will manage a portfolio of prospects and donors generating fundraising results from your conversations.

Your daily work will also include serving as an Entity Engagement Leader/Liaison to VMFH entities (i.e. hospitals, hospice, research, institute, etc.) identifying key stakeholders, building relations and creating a two-way follow of information between the Foundation and the entity.

To be successful in this role, you must have strong knowledge of philanthropic concepts, modern fundraising principles and a strong understanding of the art and science of related relationship building . In addition, you must be able to demonstrate strong organization/communication skills as well as self-motivation and perseverance in achieving established goals.

Responsibilities include:

Engages with major philanthropists.
Strong focus on fundraising in the local community.
Secure philanthropic support for a changing set of projects and programs.
Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors to generate fundraising results.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field.
5 years related experience in individual donor development and/or fund development.
Demonstrated success in securing major/mid-level gift support from individuals.
