Position Summary | The Department of Physiology and Biophysics seeks seeks highly motivated personnel to engage in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular engineering research. The main aim of the laboratory is to elucidate the mechanisms underlying development of arrhythmias, heart failure and SCD associated with obesity and circadian rhythm dysfunction. Cardiac electrophysiology research to investigate Arrhythmias, Heart Failure and Sudden Death using animal models and donor human hearts. For additional information, please visit the lab website. Core skills: Cardiac electrophysiology, Animal handling and surgery (rodents, rabbits, pigs), Donor human hearts, Optical and Electrical mapping, Molecular imaging (western blot, histology, immunohistochemistry), Cardiac cell and tissue culture (incubator), Bioinformatics (transcriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics), Signal processing (optical action potentials, electrograms) Soft skills: Scientific communication, Self-starter, Strong work ethic, Problem solver, Conscientious and strong sense of responsibility, Teamwork, Persistent, Flexibility and Adaptability, Time management and organizational skills. |
