Position Summary Information

Job Summary/Basic Function
About This Role:

Assist with the Financial administration of all externally funded federal, state, private and local contracts/grants and internally funded research enhancement grants. Duties include monthly grant billing, receivables management, grants document review and other tasks as assigned. Assist grant recipients with budgeting and expenditure guidelines. Prepare and/or assist with grant accounting entries. Prepare quarterly IDC spread and Time & Effort Reporting.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Grant Billings involving the preparation and submission of detailed financial reports to grantors monthly. This process requires a deep understanding of the grantor’s specific requirements to ensure the reports meet all necessary criteria.
  • Receivables Management focuses on tracking unpaid invoices and maintaining a healthy cash flow for the organization. This also involves issuing invoices promptly and ensuring timely collection of payments.
  • Quarterly IDC Spread; Time & Effort Reporting to capture and report data related to various initiatives on a quarterly basis. This ensures charges are accurate, allowable and properly allocated.
  • Grant Document Review/Establish Grant Funds involves a meticulous review of grant documents and the establishment of grant funds. Assist Grant Recipients with Budgets and Expenditure Guidelines.
  • Assist with the University Annual Financial Report.

Physical Requirements:

Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; ability to life, carry, push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (10 lbs.); operate office equipment.

Job Conditions:

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with some public contact and frequent interruptions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Business, Accounting, or Related Field.
  • 3-5 years accounting support, experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and or/education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been demonstrated.
  • Experience with federal grants, familiarity with CFR part 200 (Uniform Guidance), grant administrative requirements, cost principles and audit requirements.
