Position: Skilled Production Worker
Job Type: Full-time
Wage: Starting wage at $20.80+ per hour
Overview:
As a skilled production worker at Viracon, you will play a critical role in our production line, ensuring the efficient processing and accurate tracking of our glass products. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will directly impact our operational success and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Coordination: Oversee and coordinate the unloading of glass products onto various storage frameworks such as A-Frames, T-Frames, I-Racks, W-Racks, or boxes. Direct the placement of glass products to optimize space and preserve quality.
Record Keeping: Accurately record production data in our computer log system. Maintain detailed records of glass recuts, line losses due to breakage, and prepare exception reports and recut orders as necessary.
Quality Control: Communicate continuously with the furnace operator to monitor and discuss the condition of glass products post-furnace. Isolate glass by schedule numbers for seamless internal distribution.
Safety and Maintenance: Respond promptly to any breakages, ensuring the quench area is cleared before the next production cycle. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering strictly to safety protocols and using all prescribed safety equipment.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other department members to foster a positive work environment. Participate in continuous improvement efforts by actively engaging in team performance reviews and supporting process enhancements.
Additional Responsibilities:
Support other production areas as needed to meet deadlines or balance workloads.
Ensure effective communication and maintain strong relationships within the team.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent experience also considered.
Proficiency in reading and understanding work instructions in English.
Basic mathematical skills, particularly with measurements.
Experience with operating power tools.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
