Job Description:

Winchester Hospital, a proud member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is excited to announce our new 2025 Novice RN Residency Program. As the northwest suburban Boston area’s leading provider of comprehensive health care services, our 229-bed Magnet facility provides elite care in general, bariatric and vascular surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, cardiology, pulmonary medicine, oncology, gastroenterology, rehabilitation, radiation oncology, pain management, obstetrics/gynecology and a Level IIB Special Care Nursery.

This program will provide a path to success for all new graduate nurses and nurses new to a specialty area, bridging the gap between the academic and professional practice settings. Nurses with less than 1 year of experience will complete this year long program. Residents will be engaged through in-person, hands-on learning with 12 weeks of weekly clinical classes while also obtaining clinical experience with a unit-based preceptor. After the completion of the weekly classes, the resident will transition to monthly sessions with a focus on peer support and professional development topics including, but not limited to, problem-solving, critical thinking, communication skills in order to facilitate their growth into a confident professional nurse.

We want to empower the future nurses in our community and we have the tools and resources for you to succeed.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

  • Associates/Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a board-approved program

  • Completion of all clinical rotations and eligible to sit for the RN registration exam (NCLEX)

  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross – Basic Life Support Certificate

  • Be able to work 36hrs a week (all shifts) - Three 12hr shifts including weekend and holiday rotation

As a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues and our communities. Beth Israel Lahey Health requires that all staff be vaccinated against influenza (flu) and COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Learn more about this requirement.

More than 35,000 people working together. Nurses, doctors, technicians, therapists, researchers, teachers and more, making a difference in patients' lives. Your skill and compassion can make us even stronger.
