JOB REQUIREMENTS: An opportunity to prepare for a career in cosmetology
through hands-on training and mentorship in our salons. This program
offers real-world experience to prepare for a career in the beauty
industry. As a Cosmetology Apprentice, you will work directly with our
technical trainers, managers, stylists, and salon owners to receive
one-on-one training and coaching. Apprentices generally start as salon
receptionists (salon assistants) to observe and learn all aspects of
salon operations. This includes customer-facing operations such as
taking reservations and answering questions, checking in guests for
salon services, and checking out guests when the services are completed.
Receptionists also observe and learn all of the aspects of daily salon
operations, such as cleaning and sanitation duties, laundry, handling
salon supplies, and cash handling. Select receptionists are invited to
begin a formal State of Wisconsin Cosmetology Apprentice journey. The
process starts with approvals and licensing from the Wisconsin
Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and the Wisconsin Department
of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS.) Once approved and licensed,
formal technical training can begin, with the goal of preparing the
apprentice to provide supervised technical services to our customers. As
part of this program, apprentices also attend classes at a State of
Wisconsin (WI) technical school typically MATC Milwaukee Area Technical
College (Milwaukee campus), MPTC Moraine Park Technical College (West
Bend campus), or GTC Gateway Technical College (Racine campus.) A
Wisconsin Cosmetology Apprenticeship is a full-time program (at least 32
hours per week) and requires a total of 4000 hours to complete. 3712
hours is spent with Signature Two Company (as the sponsor), and a
minimum of 288 hours of related technical school education. Upon
completion, the apprentice can take the Wisconsin Cosmetology Examining
Board exams to earn a \"permanent\" cosmetology license. Our
apprenticeship program fully complies with all of the apprenticeship and
cosmetology licensing requirements administered by the Wisconsin
Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and the Wisconsin Department
