TITLE: IT Support Technician
REPORTS TO: Director of IT
STATUS: Non-Exempt; part time, 24 hours per week
LOCATION: Minneapolis, onsite
SCHEDULE: Tuesday – Friday, 4 PM – 8 PM
Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM
Schedule subject to change due to department needs.
SUMMARY
The IT Support Technician assists users in resolving problems through discussion and diagnosis, takes the necessary steps to remedy the problem, and refers more complex problems to a higher level. This position also supports the general work, projects, and ongoing tasks of the IT department.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Experience 3-5 years computer support, 1-3 years customer support. Demonstrated troubleshooting experience required. Previous customer service experience and audio/video operations preferred.
Skills and Abilities Proficient with Microsoft operating systems and PC hardware. Must have excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills. Strong initiative, organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multi-task.
Physical Demands Occasional lifting, up to 50 lbs. Frequently sitting, working at keyboard for up to 3 hours at a time. Occasional walking, climbing, descending stairs, stooping, bending, kneeling.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Respond to Help Desk requests including software and hardware failures, user problems, installing software and hardware, equipment loans and loan prep.
- Organize and improve IT systems and resources.
- Maintain toner for organization printers and copiers.
- Set-up technology for meetings and conferences.
- Provide A/V support at MacPhail events.
- Provide one-to-one employee training on phones and software.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Associate degree, post-high school certification, or equivalent experience. A+ certification preferred.Experience 3-5 years computer support, 1-3 years customer support.
