Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources or a related field. Six years of professional experience in Higher Education, Business, or related field working within Marketing, Communications, and event planning or in a related field. Previous experience in Social Media management, Photography, Event Planning, Marketing in Higher Education is preferred. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Ensures marketing efforts, communication functions, and coordination of all events are effectively coordinated to serve all students, employers, campus community, and other constituents for Career Success Center.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversees the overall operation and management of technology, marketing and communications, and event management of the Career Success Center. Coordinates the measurement and assessment of the effectiveness of career success efforts with a strong focus on continuous improvement and reaching students from all majors and backgrounds. Manages data tracking for all campus events hosted by the Career Success Center. Develops a comprehensive communication strategy to promote the vision, direction, and services for multiple audiences, including students, faculty, staff, employers, alumni, and other external audiences under the direction of the Director. Coordinates marketing and communication outreach to students, employers, and other constituents with the support of the Career Success Center Team. Focuses on planning, organizing and managing large initiatives such as career fairs and networking events. Creates content for our social media channels including – Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat, and campus events to promote the services provided to students, faculty, staff and employers under the direction of the Director. Oversees content creation upon adequate training with the Director. Supports the promotion of office activities via email, social media, and other relevant platforms. Supports the use and management of our CSM in conjunction with the Employer Partnerships team. Oversees and manages various social media channels of the Career Success Center. Tracks relevant engagement metrics and develops strategies to maximize platforms. Assists the Career Education and Employer Partnerships team in creating scalable and asynchronous content, such as videos and online modules. Seeks to build positive relationships with campus partners in order to ensure quality partnerships are developed and maintained with key offices and academic units. Reviews Career Success Center marketing, social media, and website content and materials. Manages and supervises the student Graphic Designer and Social Media Influencer student positions. Provides direction and support in their efforts to promote the Career Success Center across all social media platforms. Works closely with the Director and Career Success Team to provide mentorship to Peer Career Advisors. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications
Must be able to utilize word processing and spreadsheet software, preference for experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with graphic design, video editing, and other publication software is preferred. Prior experience in working with Adobe, Canva, Symplicity, Gecko Engage, and Photoshop preferred. Requires strong verbal and written communication skills. Almost daily contact with other campus departments, faculty, administration, staff, parents, and students. Occasionally requires working outside for outdoor events and incumbent could be exposed to various weather elements. Requires occasional evening or weekend hours during the fall and spring semesters to facilitate events held on campus.

Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
