Position Summary

The Digital Transformation Business Lead guides the delivery of complex strategic solutions to modernize processes across the MPC value chain. The role will focus on large-scale, technology-enabled, transformational projects to fundamentally improve MPC’s core business.

Accountable for business results primarily achieved through the work of others. Manages staff, sets direction, and deploys resources. Has responsibility for employee development, performance reviews, pay reviews, and staffing decisions. Accountable for business, functional or operational areas, processes, or programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and provide strategic guidance and specific business subject matter expertise in Feedstocks across a multi-functional team.

  • Identify targeted competitive advantage-generating opportunities to improve the way MPC and MPLX operate across the value chain, and implement those changes to create value for customers, suppliers, employees, and other stakeholders.

  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities to improve operations through technology advancements, process re-engineering, and other tactics.

  • Partner with IT leaders to develop a strategy to implement technology solutions that align with IT architecture and roadmap.

  • Provide guidance on the implementation of large or complex projects, oversee progression to identify potential issues during implementation, and develop contingency plans to resolve issues before they become problems.

  • Create a culture of innovation within the organization that encourages leading edge-based ideas and explores new ways of doing business.

  • Maintain an inventory of current technology offerings and partner with IT to evaluate emerging technologies to determine which solutions may be most beneficial to the organization’s long-term goals.

  • Manages multiple projects across the entire value chain.

  • Leads a team of project management and process re-engineering professionals.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other computer-related degree required.

  • Masters of Business Administration preferred.

  • 12+ years of diversified business and technology experience required.

  • 5+ years managing first level leaders and high-level professional staff required.

  • Experience leading transformation initiatives preferred.

  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred• Twelve (12) years of operational experience; preferably in the downstream oil and gas• Lean Six Sigma experience• Experience leading transformation initiatives preferred
