Position Summary | The Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University seeks applicants for a 12-month tenure-track (TT) and Continuing (previously non-tenure) track (CCA) Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor in Livestock Veterinary Services. The successful candidates will be joining our current team of livestock focused veterinarians and contribute to the missions of the team and department. Livestock Veterinary Services are identified as a critical need and especially important to the land grant mission of Colorado State University (CSU). The new hires will have the opportunity to impact vital programs by contributing to the development of a new curriculum and impacting services to constituents in the state of Colorado. Groundbreaking for a new Livestock Hospital is also under way. These positions will play a vital role as they partner with other team members to provide in house and field based clinical, didactic and laboratory teaching to DVM students, graduate students and house officers. These positions will also participate in revenue generating client facing services through the CSU Veterinary Health System (VHS) including shared after-hours responsibilities and consultations with pet owners and referring veterinarians. There is an expectation based on faculty expertise and interests, that each faculty member will contribute to advancing knowledge through position-appropriate research efforts. Numerous opportunities for independent and collaborative research exist throughout the college and university. For additional information relative to the effort distribution of each position (TT or CCA) please refer to details provided subsequently. Outreach and service opportunities are plentiful and include continuing education for local, regional, national, and international veterinary groups, providing phone and/or email consultation for veterinarians in Colorado and other states, development, and participation in professional continuing education for veterinarians, and participation in appropriate university, college, department, hospital, or professional committee work. Continuing Track: At all ranks, we expect the successful candidate will have a strong interest in clinical teaching, a strong ability and desire to engage with local and regional referring veterinary community, and actively contribute to collaborative research. This position has an expectation of up to 34 weeks of client facing service. There is an expectation of emergency duty / after-hours coverage proportional to this effort distribution. Tenure-track (TT) At all ranks, we expect the successful candidate will have a strong interest in clinical teaching, a strong ability and desire to engage with local and regional referring veterinary community and sustain an independent research program. This position has an expectation of 18 – 22 weeks of client facing service, although an adjustment in clinical service weeks is negotiable.
