Job Description:
This position Clinical Pharmacy Program Consultant has responsibility for coordinating strategic approaches for effective and efficient quality and utilization management of medications. This position will work closely with the Clinical Pharmacy Program Managers and internal and external partners to implement pharmacy program management interventions resulting in measurable outcomes that improve affordability.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Facilitate the development, management and evaluation of key medication management strategies in partnership with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
Identify new clinical programs through marketplace and data analyses. Manage the adoption, implementation and evaluation of these approaches.
Apply Lean and other Quality Improvement Project principles to existing and new utilization management initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiencies.
Direct the development of clinical management strategies for drugs and drug classes. This includes conducting drug reviews and proposing coverage criteria for evaluation and adoption by the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
Partner with others to communicate the value of our clinical programs to external purchasers.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with key management staff, medical directors, and internal departments.
Facilitate the Quality Utilization Improvement program for specialty pharmacy.
Participate in the management of specialty pharmacy partner relationships.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Current Pharmacist License in the State of Minnesota
Completion of a Pharmacy Residency or 2 years in managed care pharmacy leadership
Able to assess and utilize business data to detect opportunities and issues; strong analytical thinking.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships with peers and customers
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Specialty pharmacy and/or medical benefit management experience
Familiarity with HealthPartners clinical pharmacy programs and systems
