OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland-Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Full-Time and Part-Time STNA position for a healthcare company throughout Cuyahoga County.

Job Summary: Assists clients with activities of daily living, including personal care, dressing, ambulation/transferring, toileting, ambulation, light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and exercises as detailed in the Client’s Plan of Care. If appropriate, client transportation may also be provided and the hours available for this position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

* Employees agreeing to work 40 hours/week will qualify for an enhanced pay/benefits package based upon the requirement of consistently working 40 hours/week. If a 40-hour/week employee refuses to pick up available shifts to maintain 40 hours a week will be subject to losing the enhanced pay/benefits package.


Supervision Exercised: None

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists with and encourages client participation in activities of daily living to include but not limited to, bathing, dressing, ambulation, and exercise.
• Assists client with ambulation, including lifting and transfers as appropriate.
• Provides reminders for medication self-administration
• Assists with light housekeeping and laundry.
• Assists in the meal preparation and feeding of clients as necessary.
• Assist in client transportation when appropriate.
• Ensures a safe and sanitary environment.
• Respects and ensures safe care of a client’s clothing and valuables.
• Reports all changes in the client’s condition to the nursing supervisor and/or program director.
• Provides documentation that is compliant with the agency, state, and federal regulations.
• Follows the prescribed Plan of Care for each client.
• Follows all health and safety precautions and regulations as dictated by the Agency and the Center for Disease Control.
• Utilizes Universal Precautions as the standard set of guidelines to prevent the transmission of bloodborne pathogens from exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM).
• Completes 8-12 hours of in-service education annually.
• Maintains active First Aid and CPR certification (every two years).
• Demonstrates awareness of, follows all safety policies and procedures, and adheres to all recommended safe work practices. Also contributes to the control of hazards in a specified area of responsibility.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Educational/Training Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED.
• Successfully completed the nurse aide competency evaluation program conducted by the Ohio Department of Health without a 24-month lapse in employment or has received provider agency training and testing. Testing shall include written tests and skills testing by return demonstration.

Licenses/Certifications:
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and a clean driving record if driving clients on behalf of the agency
• Current car insurance if driving clients on behalf of the agency
• First Aid and CPR certification required
• Valid Ohio STNA Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to read, write and communicate in a caring, compassionate manner to the client
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work a variety of days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Willingness to drive up to 20 miles
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to be a team player
• Ability to accept constructive criticism
• The ability to safely transfer clients and willingness to learn how to operate a Hoyer Lift.
• Bilingual: English/Russian preferred

Physical Demands:
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to successfully lift and transfer clients as part of daily routine.
• The physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations.
