What Facility and Security Technology contributes to Cardinal Health
Security implements measures to safeguard the company's assets from circumstances and threats that would cause harm or loss.
Facility and Security Technology provides technical solutions for facility and security risk management. Creates security standards and deploys technology, including, but not limited to security systems, facility technology/ smart buildings, and the cyber-hardening of these devices.
The Cardinal Health Facility and Security Technology vision is to function in tandem with the company’s business needs and to proactively and innovatively prevent or mitigate risk while protecting significant company assets and being prepared to respond in an appropriate and professional manner when required. The Advisor, Facility and Security Technology, will assist the Global Security and Corporate Real Estate teams in protecting Cardinal assets, people, products, property and information.
Responsibilities
Facility and Security System Programming - 30%
Acts as the in-house facility and security systems technical programming expert
Acts as the main point of contact for new system programming and provides master level systems knowledge
Programming knowledge for access control, video surveillance, smart building and visitor management systems
Provides programming support for AI related projects
Provides programming services to the field for system onboarding
Works in coordination with the other departments
Works in coordination with Manager, Security Technology, to review proposals and how they would impact the facility and security systems strategy
Maintains log of system licenses and passwords
Maintains web service SSL certificates for application servers
Facility and Security System Service - 40%
Acts as the in-house service technical expert
Act as the main point of contact for all facility and security technology service related issues throughout the Enterprise.
Receive calls from all facilities globally regarding service issues.
Create solutions for remedying service issues permanently in lieu of band-aiding issues
Determine what type of system is on-site and engage appropriate vendor.
Maintains a thorough understanding of the service expectations for each business unit.
Monitors service calls and service call progress through web service portal.
Provide updates to the field locations on the status of their service call.
Follow up with vendors to make sure service calls and issues are resolved within the set expectations for resolution.
Review service invoices to make sure they are in compliance with established MSA pricing.
Maintain service log and service updates in the ServiceNow website.
Provide system audits Identify locations with repeat service issues and report them to Manager, Security Technology.
Provide weekly service audit reports to regional Security Technology Managers.
Enterprise System Design and Roll Out - 20%
Provides expert guidance regarding the roll-out of facility and security technology software
Designs regional server architecture
Designs communication server architecture
Coordinates with IT regarding standard IT infrastructure
Provides compliance with IT Network and Cyber Security, Quality and Regulatory, IT & Legal Risk, Environmental Health & Safety and Operations standards
Understand and provides expert guidance on systems integration including, but not limited to access control hardware, video surveillance hardware, intrusion detection hardware, building management systems, building automation systems and other 3rd party software applications
Training - 10%
- Field training support as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
4+ years experience in related field, preferred
Strong background and understanding of IT including servers, databases, networking, and their relation to facility and security technology software such as Lenel’s OnGuard and JLL’s IntelliCommand
Must have a proven track record in successfully providing programming and service support
Expert knowledge and experience in Lenel and Milestone is a must
Firm understanding of the balance between business and security
Broad security knowledge in manufacturing and distribution (supply chain)
Ability to resolve problems and develop process improvements
High ethical standards
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Able to leverage best practices to address complex processes and issues
Committed to customer focus and operational excellence
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong team-building skills
Strong computer skills, specifically MS Office 365 programs
Willing and able to travel up to 10%
