Company Profile

Broadway Veterinary Surgery has been looking after pets on the Wirral for over forty years. Our dedicated team offers a caring and high quality service to our patients and clients across the lovely Wirral, in North West England.

We have three practices across; Bebington (our main site), Wallasey & Heswall each providing a range of high quality primary care veterinary services.

Linnaeus invest in quality practices who put patient care at the heart of everything they do. Together we provide a growing community of like-minded veterinary professionals who are passionate about what they do.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our expanding nursing team. We are a vibrant, bubble team that strives to provide our clients and their pets with the highest standard of care.

Our nursing shifts vary between theatre & "behind the scenes" days and nurse clinic days.

A typical theatre/"behind the scenes" day involves providing peri-operative care for several procedures, such as neutering, soft tissue surgery & dentistry and looking after any day-patients in our kennel room or cattery, supported by additional RVNs, SVNs or Patient Care Assistants (PCA). We do not provide our own OOH service or house inpatients overnight, however we will often have inpatients during the day. We have in-house laboratories (biochemistry & haematology, microscopy) at each of our three sites and two of our sites have radiography facilities.

A nursing clinic day will involve a diary of nursing clinic sessions spread out between 8:30am - 6:30pm and they are very popular! We complete all types of nursing clinics, such as weight clinics, senior clinics, health checks, dental check-ups and puppy & kitten clinics in addition to 2nd vaccinations, administering immunotherapy & varying other injections, blood & cytology sampling.

We are looking for:
- A Small Animal Registered Veterinary Nurse with a minimum of one years' experience
- Someone looking to develop their skill set, especially in nurse clinics, with some routine surgeries & dentistry
- Someone passionate about providing a high standard of veterinary care
- Full-time rota support (40 hours over 4 days per week)
- Weekend rota support (1 in 4 Saturdays)
Working hours
We have a set rolling 4-week rota with our nursing team working together throughout our opening hours each day.
Our shifts are 8am-7pm on weekdays (1-hour unpaid lunch) and 8am-6pm on Saturdays (30-minute paid break) and you will be given a designated weekday off every week.
When working a Saturday per 4-week rota, you will be given a weekday off in lieu.
Our nursing team tend to work across 2 of our 3 sites for continuity although we need RVNs to be able to travel to & work across all 3 sites as required on a rota basis.
